Big Gun 03:12
tonight I watched the police precinct go up in flames I’ve never seen anything like it in all of my days the city is on fire and the people are in pain and for better or for worse things will never be the same light skinned nigga with a big gun swear i ain’t tryna use it but i won’t run rather put seeds in the ground than a loved one grow a garden feed the block and pass that love on but everyday we out here living in a war zone can’t grow food when the soil’s full of poison can’t find peace when you can’t even turn your lights on and you can’t breathe when your neck is being knelt on so don’t talk to me about no buildings being burnt down don’t talk to me about no buildings being burnt down from the ashes we gon build a better world now and until then i ain’t gonna put my gun down in my house we don’t pray for change i tried to talk to god once but he must be out of range now we make it on our own out here every single day from our birth to our death hell even from the grave if someone know your name then you still makin’ waves and i hope you niggas swim cause on my mama i ain’t playin’ it’s not about money and it’s not about fame it’s not about an image and it’s not about a name it’s about me sayin what i feel i gotta say and puttin down this weight that i carry everyday cause lately im so tired i can’t even stand up straight so god if you listening’ would you hit me back some day

Midnight 04:04
I'm bitter and angry again born into a system I cannot defend why do we live like this putting faith into a dollar well I'm tired of being fucking fed up of these prissy rich assholes who can't get enough they lie and extort and then make us think that its our fault that we don't have no real food to eat been filling on ramen for three lousy weeks while Bezos takes off in his jet laughing at all of us now I know this system's got to go so go rob a bank slash a cops car tires after midnight how low will we let ourselves go before we fight back slash a cops care tires after midnight now I'm tired of hearing about crime it's the same old story most of the time it's always someone trying to find their way out of poverty and I wonder if it'd be the same if we had in place a maximum wage and stop letting people like Elon and Gates hoard the money now I know this system's got to go so go rob a bank slash a cops car tires after midnight how low will we let ourselves go before we fight back slash a cops care tires after midnight now I know this system's got to go so go rob a bank slash a cops car tires after midnight go rob a bank slash a cops car tires after midnight go rob a bank slash a cops car tires after midnight

who will i hold when the house is burning down like the forest all around us and the ocean puts it out when that time comes i wanna know who will i hold who will i hold when the water is full of poison and that poison’s worth more than gold and our lives ain’t worth anything no more when that time comes i wanna know who will i hold will i have chased away everyone who showed me love or already died in shame for the things that I have done will i have changed will i be a better son i just hope im still with you when the flood comes who will i hold when the house is burning down like the forest all around us and the ocean puts it out when that time comes i wanna know who will i hold who will i hold when the water is full of poison and that poison’s worth more than gold and our lives ain’t worth anything no more when that time comes i wanna know who will i hold

it’s always been hard times there’s nothin that’s new most people die never knowin what’s true we spend our whole lives just lookin to prove that there’s some sort of merit to the shit that we do like workin from sunrise to supper each day to make that minimum wage rate of pay and then in the night time under the moon we rest our tired bones in hopes of feeling renewed while dreaming of futures sweeter than now like fruit grown from the ashes of an empire that fell like fruit grown from the ashes of an empire that fell it’s always been hard times there’s nothing that’s new but don’t let that truth take your own truth from you we spend our whole lives doing the best we can do with the cards that we were dealt in a time that feels cruel where pain it runs rampant for most while the few with the money and power try to tell us what to do hope almost seems lost but then out of the dark a raging fire grows from a spark as its warmth and its light give us strength for the fight together we’ll see our way through these hard times together we’ll see our way through these hard times

about

hello friends! we are so excited to finally share this EP with you!
the two of us have been hard at work on this for months, we’ve put so much thought and countless hours into the project. it was all recorded by the two of us alone in our spare bedroom using 2 mics and a 15 year old desktop computer. Brandi did all of the layering editing and mixing herself, jobi handmade the cover, and we both contributed to the song writing. we aimed to create a cohesive project that captured the whirlwind of chaos and emotions that 2020 brought us while still ending on a note of hopefulness and community.
we are so proud of this little EP and we can’t wait for you all to hear it.
